Challenge 8 - Green Nails.

Hi, Girls!

Better late than never, I haven't been in the mood to sit down & do my nails, hence the late post, Thank God it's a week between challenges.

This week is GREEN! I will be the first to admit I have a pretty immature sense of humour. The first thing I said to the boyfriend was "Green? DRUGS!" I meant it as a joke, but he told me to give it a go.

I was quite excited, but as it turns out, impossible for me to do free hand & make pretty. It looked pretty dull just having a green marijuana leaf, so I wanted to put glitter on it. Made a mess, looked awful. Eventually, I gave up & went for the rhinestone effect on the accent nail.

I promised you before that I would still post manis that go wrong, & this one is definitely included in that. Whilst it looks nothing like a marijuana leaf, it's still green. I am quite impressed with myself regarding the taping on the other nails. I have a love hate relationship with tape, I never get smooth lines, but this time it hasn't gone bad at all.

I really wish I had a polish that was the same colour as the rhinestones, so it didn't look even more odd. Still, you live & learn, & I've had enough of green now.

Just a final note...Don't do drugs, kids.

Hi Girls!

It's 0300hrs & guess who can't sleep! I hate nights like these, I'm exhausted but sleep still evades me. What is a girl to do, other than paint her nails.

A lot of manicures going round the past few days have been going with the Valentines Day theme, so I thought I'd have a play.

I'm not happy with this, but thought I'd share anyway. It was basically an 'Oooh, I remember I have rhinestones, let me play' moment. I am planning on doing a 'proper' mani, but this is the results of insomnia Nail Art!

A complete girly manicure. I wanted to practice free handing hearts for design I end up with for Valentines Day. Easier than I thought.

I just need to figure our a final design. Although we're staying in for Valentines, & my lovely Boyfriend will not notice what my nails look like, I still want them to look the part.

Any suggestions?

Challenge 6 - Yellow Nails

Hi Girls!

Back again for another challenge, this time, yellow. I had two different ideas for this one, so I've done both of them.

The first one I wanted to try after seeing it on another blog, however I'm not sure which one, so apologies.

I started by doing a yellow/orange gradient, & then used the nail art pen to draw the outlines.

I'm quite annoyed with these. I had been practising to try and get the flames right,& I was really getting there, but when it came to doing them on nails, they did not go how I wanted, & I ended up cleaning them off not long after taking the photo.

 My Brother bought me some 'Fingers' for Christmas, & I have pre-glued nails which I get from the 99p shop. It saves me from have to practice on my own nails & ruining them from nail polish remover.

These were a few of my practice runs, I think they look a lot better than what I ended up with, albeit still not perfect. 

My second attempt, was what I originally wanted to play with.Bees! I love Bees. They scare the crap out of me if they manage to get near me. I just don't understand how they work. They should not be able to lift off & hover. After watching The |Bee Movie, I fell in love even more.

Poor Bee, ended up with weird stripes & eyes. I was getting a bit sleepy, so was lazy  freehanded the stripes instead of waiting for them to dry & use tape. 

I used some rhinestones from the 99p shop for the trail. As you can tell, this took about 5 minutes, but it's still quite eye catching. I have named him Gilbert.

So these are my two attempt for this weeks challenge. I have a few ideas of things I want to play with, so I'm quite excited about that. I'm spending a lot of time applying for any job I can find. It's hard finding something which doesn't need experience though, so wish me luck!

Challenge 2: Red Nails!

I was not looking forward to this challenge. I'm not too much of a fan of simplistic designs. I have the imagination of a child, so I get so many ideas, & having one colour restricts me.

I was lucky really. I put UV gel extensions on a friend at the weekend, & as she was poorly, she just wanted a simple design on them. We came up with this:

I figured I could adapt this to my red challenge & my brain went into overdrive at the possibilities. I love French Manicures, especially when they're unique. I think they can look gorgeous & glamorous.
Of course, at the other end of the scale, they can look quite trashy & cheap, which sadly, I think I achieved. My bad!

I am planning on redoing the this week. I wont be adding the red glitter this time, as it completely ruined it. I think the red rhinestone was pointless, although it is much more clear in person. I'm not sure I will even use rhinestones next time.

Ahh, all the possibilities.
